Simon Rushby is a music education expert, author, composer and performer based in the UK.
As an education expert Simon is a teacher and consultant with 30 years' experience in leading UK schools as a Director of Music and Senior Leader, a classical, jazz and diplomas examiner and an examiner trainer for ABRSM, an examiner for A Level Music, a sought-after private piano, composition, GCSE and A Level Music teacher, a presenter and course-leader and a prolific writer of educational resources.
As a composer and songwriter Simon has written songs that have charted for artists in Europe and Asia, and compositions that have been used worldwide for TV shows and commercials. He has been lead arranger on two albums of legendary composer Alexander Shulgin's music which have topped the charts in Russia, and he writes instrumental and vocal music for theatre and concert performances.
As a performer Simon plays piano and keyboards in classical, jazz and pop styles and regularly appears on stage with leading UK bands as well as working in Musical Theatre and as an accompanist and soloist. Simon has conducted much of the major choral and orchestral repertoire, appearing on the podium at venues including The National Cathedral in Washington, St Peter's Basilica in Rome, St Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna and St Paul's Cathedral and the Barbican in London. He has been Musical Director on numerous shows such as Les Miserables, West Side Story, The Producers and Sweeney Todd.
